Aims of the Guild

"To improve standards of beer writing and extend the public knowledge of beer."

The British Guild of Beer Writers was formed in 1988 to help spread the word about beers and brewing, and our website is dedicated to exactly that pursuit.

In it, you will find listed the cream of the country's beer media experts - be they journalists, authors, producers, photographers, illustrators or public relations people. Somewhere in these pages, you will find a beer professional who can answer any questions you have, produce any articles you need, take any pictures you require and generally inform you about any and all aspects of this extraordinary product.

The Guild is supported by brewers, pub companies, and many suppliers associated with the brewing trade. They, too, are listed in our corporate members page.

Beer is a subject extraordinarily well served by its affiliated journalists, in whatever media they operate. The quality of writing of beer journalists and the broad social canvas open which they sketch are remarkable.

The Guild's hope is that the public is given every opportunity to learn this and first hand from its members - and that the public can read, listen and view as frequently as possible how beer is flourishing in Britain today.
