‘People Factor’ tops the bill at SIBA Conference
In recognition of the vital role played by people in the UK’s thriving local brewing sector, the Society of Independent Brewers’ National Conference takes ‘The People Factor’ as its theme. The Conference and AGM take place in Stratford-on-Avon on 4th and 5th March.
The Conference is SIBA’s ninth and is expected to attract a record number of delegates from the organisation’s growing membership. Speakers, who will be addressing delegates on Friday 5th March, include: motivational guru Nigel Risner; Nick Bish, ALMR; Stephen Oliver, Marston's; Simon Townsend, Enterprise Inns; Chris Holmes, Castle Rock Brewery and Tim Croxson of Croxsons.
SIBA chief executive Julian Grocock says, “To make great beer, you need great ingredients and the people in a brewery are just as important as the hops and barley. Many SIBA members start out as small businesses and then grow, meaning they need to recruit, manage and motivate people in their breweries and, for a growing number, in their pubs. Our speakers this year have a wealth of people-related experience which we’re confident will be of great practical value to our delegates.”
Preceding the Conference on the Thursday, the SIBA Commercial team will give an update on its work to help bring SIBA brewers’ beers to market, including SIBA Direct Delivery Service (DDS), which now sells to around 2,000 pubs and SIBA Technical Services, which provides installation and maintenance services for all members.
The Conference ends on the Friday night with a dinner and entertainment, this year celebrating SIBA’s 30th Anniversary. The full AGM and Conference programme can be seen at www.siba.co.uk
