Building a Brand: ‘Why People Don’t Buy What You’re Selling… They Buy You!’ with Nick Law

In this session, Nick Law from Hop Forward unpacks some of the misconceptions behind branding, before exploring what a brand actually is. The aim of the session is to understand why branding is important for beer communicators, consultants, broadcasters and professionals in the beverage industry, and how to maximise the effect of your brand.

In this two hour session, he will cover the following topics:

  • What a brand is and isn’t
  • What components make up a brand
  • The differences between brands, brand identity and personal brands and which is the best fit for you
  • How and why people buy brands before they products and services
  • How to use your brand for maximum effect to increase revenue

The session will be interactive, with time for discussion and Q&A, and is suitable for both novice and experienced beer communicators. The session will be capped at 20 attendees.

Nick Law is a brewer, brander and entrepreneur with over 20 years-worth of experience in design, marketing and – over the last 6 years – brewing and working in beer.

Hop Forward is a branding and marketing agency and beer business consultancy for professionals in the brewing and drinks industry. They collaborate with breweries, bars, bottle shops and businesses to make beer look as good as it tastes and help their clients build a better beer business.
