What is the one thing you'd like to tell visitors to the Guild's website?

I’ve been working in the industry for a number of years now. From working behind the bar, building my knowledge base, to now running a successful craft beer tap. With links with CAMRA, judging or celebrating our bars exceptional cask selection and management.

Buying from small independent brewers, micro or nano, to working with Ossett and Salt creating my own beers from concept to tap. Brewing has become a hobby that has taken a new life, be it with Tay, Polly’s or Emperors Brewery. Getting stuck in and enjoying the community, life and friendships that fuel the industry as a whole.

The beer reviews for the bar and for breweries has grown massively. I’ve loved live tastings, detailed feedback and even the odd sneaky pre release review to encourage craft beer drinkers to try something or someone new. To put positive encouragement back into an industry that is in it entirety, about the celebration of community.

What you can offer as a writer/beer lover?

Beer reviews for social media, media assets and blog posts. I also enjoy live discussions, podcasting and a whole host of in person talks about and the process of brewing beer.

What do you like most about being a Guild of Beer Writers member?

Bringing the world of beer to people who may not feel it is accessible to them. Education, information and guided reviews and tastings that are detailed but also done in a way where anyone can learn from them. Inclusive and friendly for all.
