Pieces of work by Gavin:

  • Farewell to my favourite neighbour

Moving house was tough. Leaving my local behind was even tougher.

  • 33 set sail on a revolutionary voyage

The best breweries deserve to be celebrated. This article celebrates a pioneering Transatlantic project by one of Yorkshire’s best.

  • The village that refused to give up its pub

Two and a half years is a long time to wait for a pint – but they got there in the end

  • Who benefits from this needless pub change?

Pubs belong to the masses not the bosses. I wrote this impassioned piece when one of the big pubcos targeted a charming drinkers’ local.
