What is the one thing you'd like to tell visitors to the Guild's website?
I’ve won several awards for my writing and I mainly write about travel, beer and spirits.
What you can offer as a writer/beer lover?
I’ve won several awards for my writing, including Online Travel Writer of the Year, and like nothing more than combining travel and beer. I also combine travel and spirits on my Travel Distilled website, publish a website dedicated to vodka, and am co-author of the guide to London pubs, Around the Tube in 80 Pubs. I spend half my time in the UK and half in Arizona, and am also a member of the North American Guild of Beer Writers.
What do you like most about being a Guild of Beer Writers member?
The chance to see what real beer writers are doing, and to learn more about beer.
Pieces of work by Mike:
Taking a beer and bikes tour in Breckenridge in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in the USA, visiting a brewery and the world’s highest distillery on the way.
My piece for BeerAdvocate magazine and website on the beer scene in Tucson, where I spend half my year.
