What is the one thing you'd like to tell visitors to the Guild's website?
I am passionate about beer! I love to spread the word about beer and encourage people to immerse themselves in it’s culture and heritage. In 2019, I launched Leeds Beer Tours, a guided tour experience exploring beer’s history and modern day culture in Leeds. Since then, the tours have welcomed visitors from all over the world and won Specialist Tour Company of the Year in 2020.
In 2018 and 2019, I organised Festival of Brewers, a beer festival concept supporting eight small and independent breweries each time.
Today, I am also the Chair for the Leeds branch of the Campaign for Real Ale.
I have appeared in both regional and national media to discuss industry topics, including live appearances on BBC News TV, and regularly on BBC Radio Leeds.
What you can offer as a writer/beer lover?
I love to help educate people and share my experiences in the world of beer. Promoting the product and industry in a positive, fun and easy-to-understand way. It’s extremely important to me that I do this in a way that people can easily understand and relate.
What do you like most about being a Guild of Beer Writers member?
The Guild is a prestigious group with some wonderfully talented people; I’m proud to be a part of this community. The opportunity to be able to work alongside these people in a mutual celebration of beer is fantastic!
