What you can offer as a writer/beer lover?

As I discover new beer styles I aim to blog about my experiences and reach people who may not have considered trying ales. I hope that my writing will be relatable to those who don’t know where to start with beer or find it a minefield. I want to help talk about beer in a more approachable way to get more people enjoying it!

Pieces of work by Sophie:

  • What will the beer industry look like post-lockdown?

This post explores how the beer industry might look after lockdown has lifted. I ask some questions, not all of which have answers, and I discuss a few of my own observations.

  • It's all about the Bass

To celebrate National Bass Day I wrote this post with a brief history of Draught Bass and my first experience of drinking such an iconic ale.

  • SoBeer Guide to Southampton

After many visits to this city I finally managed to compile list of my favourite beer destinations in Southampton. Inspired by an earlier list posted by Tom Hallett I revisited a few old haunts as well as some new places that have really great beer. This is by no means a definitive list and I have had a few more great suggestions to check out!

  • Newbie Foodie

Over lockdown I discovered that my attitude to food has changed and I have taken real pride in cooking meals I may not have had the time or opportunity to make before. This is a personal post on my journey so far with food and beer.
