When we first started out on this road in 2012 we had a dream, we actually had lots of dreams. You’ve heard us say this before about things like The Beavertown Extravaganza, which we ticked off our bucket list last year. Well, we are about to take a big step on the road to ticking off another.
We have often spoken about our ambition to have great craft beer available to anyone who wants it, on any street corner across the UK. Over the last few months we have worked very hard with supermarket retailer Waitrose to make this a reality, and now we can tell you officially that it’s happening. Cans of fresh Neck Oil, Gamma Ray & Lupuloid will be on a shelf and in a store near you from Monday 30th April! It’s not something we have rushed into, as we have taken our time to survey the landscape and assess the impact of other craft brands hitting supermarket shelves over the last 12 months, along with having lots of conversations to make sure we found the right partner. We wanted someone who holds the same attention to detail and commitment to quality that we do. If we were going to do this it was only going to be with someone who was going to take as good care of our beer, as we do ourselves, and in Waitrose we believe we have found a partner who is willing to, and invested in doing just that.
Sarah Hammond, Waitrose beer buyer, said of the partnership: ‘We’re so excited to be able to offer Waitrose shoppers this wonderful range of innovative craft beers. The guys at Beavertown are so passionate about what they do, it’s been a pleasure to work with them on this launch, and I can’t wait to hear what our customers think of the beers.’
This is part of a continued effort to widen the availability of our beer across the UK to an increasingly “craft” savvy public and now, with high street grocer Waitrose adding over 270 stores to our stellar list of Indy stockists, we feel like we are well on the way to getting more Beavertown in more places, bringing great craft beer to drinkers of all levels, experience and walks of life, nationwide.
Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for more announcements about this over the next couple of weeks, including a list of the stores that will be stocking the beer. These will also be added to the beer finder (http://www.beavertownbrewery.co.uk/beer-finder/) on our website!
