71 BREWING HEADLINE SPONSOR AT CARNIVAL FIFTY SIX

– Mark Ronson, Rudimental and Clean Bandit Confirmed Headline Acts for Inaugural Dundee Music Festival –

Hot on the heels of its first product launch, Dundee’s 71 Brewing has been signed up as headline sponsor for the city’s inaugural music festival, Carnival Fifty Six, this summer.

As part of the sponsorship deal, the craft brewer’s 71 Lager will be the official lager partner, on sale to festival goers over the two-day event (12-13 August) at Camperdown Park. At the launch of the festival programme this week, organisers confirmed Mark Ronson, Rudimental and Clean Bandit as headline acts.

Duncan Alexander, Founder of 71 Brewing and proud Dundonian, said: “Carnival Fifty Six will be one of Scotland’s biggest music festivals and what an incredible line-up for the first year. It will definitely put extra swagger in the Dundonian step. There’s capacity for 15,000 people on the site and the fact that everyone will be drinking 71 Lager in my home city makes me excited beyond words to be a part of this.”

Speaking about 71 Brewing’s partnership, Festival Director Craig Blyth said: “We are delighted to announce the partnership with 71 Brewing for Carnival Fifty Six. The company’s values, its product and its ambitious vision for the future has a great synergy with the festival.  This year marks the beginning of an exciting journey for both of us and we look forward to the long term shared experience ahead.”

Tickets will go on general sale from 27 February from £40 for a day ticket and £76 for a weekend pass via the festival website: www.carnivalfiftysix.co.uk.

71 Brewing is a new urban craft brewery located in the heart of Dundee. Occupying a building that formed part of the historic Blackness foundry complex, a 7,200sq ft state-of-the-art brewery has emerged and plans are afoot to install an on-site bar and off-licence. Inspired by the great lager brewing traditions, 71 Brewing’s mission is to explore this wonderful, but much dismissed, beer style. Modelled on a classic Bohemian Pilsner, 71 Lager was launched last month, available in 30L and 50L keg format and 330ml bottles directly through the brewer: sales@71brewing.com

Carnival Fifty Six is presented by JEM Concerts.
