A Victorian Hot Gin Bar pop-up is arriving at The Conductor in Farringdon this winter

The Conductor has teamed-up with Sipsmith, the London gin distiller, to open a pop-up Victorian Hot Gin Bar this festive season. The venture will create an immersive gin experience to warm up chilly customers during the colder months.

The grand opening is on Monday 18 November, with the pop-up bar open Monday through Friday from 5pm to 11pm until the end of December.

Beautifully re-modelled with London’s gin heritage at its core, the pop-up bar has been decked out with aged barrels, classic chandeliers and traditional Victorian sipping glasses with a bespoke hot gin menu featuring Sipsmith gins.

The bar can be hired for private events for up to 60 people standing and 32 seated – making it the ideal place to host a memorable Christmas party.

Commenting on what people can expect to find at the pop-up, Sipsmith Brand Activation Manager Olly Hoey said: “To honour the London of yesteryear where hot gin was formed, we have collaborated with The Conductor to transport people through time into the 18th Century. Guests can experience the range of delicious hot tipples as well as some classic winter twists. We have decorated the site to ensure it has a cosy and authentic feel where people can enjoy their drink in a unique setting.”

Step inside the pop-up bar to try several different hot gin creations by Sipsmith, including spiced mulled sloe gin, hot gin and gingerbread, and decedent chocolate orange.

Prior to the grand opening, a Victorian Hot Gin Masterclass event will take place at the pop-up bar on Wednesday 13 November from 6.30pm to 8pm, where gin-lovers can meet the distillers from Sipsmith, make and sample their own hot gin, and learn about the history of hot gin. Tickets are £15 per person and can be purchased here: Victorian Hot Gin Masterglass with Sipsmith Gin.

Olly said: “We have various other hot gin pop-ups happening with Fuller’s this winter with The Conductor and The Gun being our flagship sites. The Gun will follow a similar theme but with a Docklands setting.

“The Conductor is a great site which has undergone a fantastic refurb offering a warming and cosy space to relax with friends, family and colleagues. It is also close to the river, the birthplace of hot gin tipples of London’s past, making it the perfect spot to celebrate hot gin. A perfect hideaway from the hustle and bustle of London city life.”

So, as the cold weather sets in this festive season, raise a hot gin this winter and celebrate in Sipsmith style at The Conductor, located at 1 Fleet Place, London, EC4M 7RA, next door to the City Thameslink in Farringdon.
