Alpha Delta Announce First Permanent Cask Beer

Newcastle based Alpha Delta Brewing have today announced that they will be launching the brewers first ever permanent cask beer to their core range of beers.

Roca is a 4.2% double dry hopped pale ale brewed with a combination of Citra, Comet and Mosaic hops.  The cask beer has lovely full aromas and flavours of grapefruit and stone fruits, but still a very sessionable pint.  The beer is also unfiltered and unfined so has a natural haze and is vegan friendly.

The North East brewer have had a number of requests for their beers in cask following limited special releases, but felt now was the right time to launch one in their core range.

Ross Holland, founder and head brewer at Alpha Delta Brewing said “We are really excited to launch Roca as part of our permanent cask range.  It is something we definitely needed to add to our beer selection as each time we have produced a guest beer in cask it has always been really well received.  Our recent Sirens series of guest cask beers sold out in a couple of weeks!  More of our customers have asked for our beers in cask and it is great to see such a demand for this.”

“We have been working hard behind the scenes to develop this beer.  We really wanted something that represented what we are about.   Full of flavour but, not too challenging.  A pint that has you coming back to the bar for another!   We really feel this could be a staple on bars not just in the North East but across the UK” Ross added.

Roca will officially launch at the start of April with the beer pouring first at the iconic Bridge Tavern bar in Newcastle, Foleys Tap House (Leeds), Hope & Union (Stockton), The Ship Isis (Sunderland), Three Legged Mare and Last Drop Inn (both York) on Friday 7th April.  Roca will be available to be purchased direct from Alpha Delta Brewing, as well as wholesalers Pivovar and Inn Express.  For more details visit www.alphadeltabrewing.com or email sales@alphadeltabrewing.com.

Notes to the editor

Alpha Delta Brewing was born out of the Box Social brewery in 2019.

Box had been going since 2015 brewing very small batch (150L a time) beer in Steve’s garage, and it soon flourished due to the unique take on beer flavours with a culinary influence.

Fast forward just over a year and Box Social Brewing was at a stage to take the first step in our expansion,  acquiring a 1000L Brewhouse along with premises in Newburn, Newcastle and space for our first Tap Room.

In 2019 Box Social acquired a new brewing site just down the road in Newburn and expanded again, purchasing a 15 brewers barrel brewhouse able to produce 2500L batches of beer.

Soon after this, a decision was made to freshen up the brand, and begin brewing bigger seasonal beers. Alpha Delta Brewing was born.  Bold branding, bigger and better beers and a new take on things was the target achievement.

Within just 4 months of launching, Alpha Delta Brewing was rated the number 1 craft brewery in Europe on the Untappd beer rating app.

This propelled Alpha Delta into brand new territories not just in the UK, but worldwide, exporting beer to 25 different countries.

Alpha Delta was also awarded amongst the top 10 new brewers in the World 2021 by the highly respected website, Rate Beer.

With the pandemic, Alpha Delta had to adapt quickly and effectively. We brought in a new canning line, along with more holding tanks to allow for in-house packaging of all kegs and cans.
