An Evening of Beer Discovery at Brouwerij Bourgogne des Flandres

Last week at Brouwerij Bourgogne des Flandres,  Bruges Paul from Alehunters presented an evening of beer discovery alongside Thomas Vandelanotte,  master brewer and distiller at John Martin and Stu Stuart, founder of Belgian Beer Me!

Alongside a tasting of Belgian,  Canadian,  UK and US beers topics included the cultural differences of the beer scenes in each country and the current challenges facing each of them. Particular focus was placed on the plight of styles such as Oud Bruin, the future of Trappist breweries and what the future holds.

Guests were encouraged to bring along questions and they included brewers, cafe owners, zytholoogs, beer judges and enthusiasts.  As usual for a beer event the after party went long into the early hours.

And the beer of the evening was from none other than Siren!
