Appointments create new structure at Brakspear

Pub operator and brewer Brakspear has recruited a business development manager and restructured its operations team to bolster the support offered both to its tenants and lessees and to its two managed pubs.

Lee Taylor joins Brakspear from Star Pubs & Bars, where he was a business development manager for five years. Previously, Taylor spent eight years with Scottish & Newcastle, in a number of sales and business/customer development roles.  While at Star Pubs, Taylor reached the finals of the ALMR Operations Manager of the Year Awards 2012.

At the same time, Brakspear has moved Mat Aket to the new role of operations manager.  Aket joined Brakspear in 2011 as a BDM and managed the redevelopment of both Brakspear’s managed pubs: the Bull on Bell Street in Henley and the Porch House in Stow-on-the-Wold, which opened earlier this month.

Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies said, “These appointments give us the structure we need to move forward as a strong estate of tenanted, leased and managed pubs.

“Our tenants and lessees will benefit from the support of an outstanding BDM in Lee, while our small managed estate is in very capable hands with Mat. We look forward to the valuable contribution both will undoubtedly make to our business.”
