Award-winning English wine & beermaker launches new beer – Curious Black

We are delighted to announce the launch of Curious Black (ABV 4.4), a new beer from England’s leading wine makers, Chapel Down.Inspired by the success of Curious Brew, we have applied our winemaking expertise to challenge the hegemony of another beer category.

Smoother, richer and slightly stronger than the universal standard, Curious Black uses the finest chocolate malt barleys and oats for a deep, dark, soft liquor.

Then traditional English bittering hops for balance and conditioned with the same vanilla oak traditionally used in the production of fine silky full bodied reds from the New World [and Chapel Down too].The beer is served as a two-part pour to allow the beer to settle and finished with a “?”.

The question mark is our challenge to consumers to support a better beer and a great English alternative.

Curious Black is the latest draught beer from the people who developed Curious Brew – The International Gold Medal winning lager.Curious Brew is re-fermented with Champagne yeast and with a late of hop dosage of the rare and fragrant Nelson Sauvin hop.

It’s exciting drinkers from London to Hong Kong.

CEO Frazer Thompson said:

“Curious Black is brewed to give stout drinkers a real alternative to a pint of plain.

“We think it’s a fantastic pint and so do our customers.”
