Badger wins Silver

2013 full bottle range - latest

Badger Ales has won a Silver Award in the 2014 Design Effectiveness Awards for its new brand identity created by BrandOpus.

The award acknowledges the success of Badger’s rebranding across the nine-bottle range. This new identity has created a strong on-shelf presence, encouraging consumers to explore the full Badger range and world of Badger. By developing Badger’s distinctive identity, and building upon the brand’s roots, BrandOpus has created an iconic character which is easily identifiable.

Anna Corbett, Brand Marketing Manager at Badger, said: “We are delighted to have won such a prestigious award.  BrandOpus has brought the countryside to Badger’s identify and provided a structure to our range of award-winning beers which has allowed us to grow our sales to become one of the top three premium bottled ale brands in the country.”

BrandOpus’s redesign for Badger also included off-trade point of sale materials and multipack containers, on-trade items including pub signage, pump clips and beer mats as well as lorry livery, uniforms and social media platforms.

The Design Effectiveness Awards, run by the Design Business Association, are the most prestigious, authoritative and sought-after within the design industry and the only award scheme that uses commercial data as a key judging criteria.

Background information:

Hall & Woodhouse has been brewing Badger ales in the heart of the Dorset countryside since 1777.  As one of the leading independent brewers in the UK, Hall & Woodhouse is well known for its range of award-winning ales brewed under the Badger brand and its network of public houses throughout the South of England. The Brewery, which is now managed by the fifth generation of the Woodhouse family, is justifiably proud of the quality of its ales which are brewed with Dorset spring water filtered through the Cretaceous chalk downs and drawn up 120 feet from the Brewery’s own wells.
