The British Beer & Pub Association has teamed up with Sky’s Preview magazine this month, distributing 23,000 unit awareness posters to licensees who receive Sky Sports in pubs.
The posters form part of the unit awareness materials developed by the BBPA as part of its contribution to the Government’s Public Health Responsibility deal. The BBPA provided the posters and Sky has distributed them free-of-charge.
The posters conveys a simple and clear message about the number of alcohol units in commonly consumed drinks. They form part of a range of materials available to download or order from the BBPA website, at www.beerandpub.com/units.
The initiative was developed by the BBPA in partnership with Drinkaware. It is intended to assist drinkers in making informed choices and to help raise consumer awareness of responsible drinking in the UK.
Andy Tighe, Policy Director at the British Beer & Pub Association comments:
“As publicans showed with their support for the Challenge 21 initiative over the last ten years, the sector remains committed to responsible retailing.
“This unit awareness campaign is adding to the great work across the country and allowing consumers to make informed choices.”
