Step through the doors of Bedlam Brewery recently and you’ll have heard mumblings of Gluten Free beer!
Not resting on their laurels after having won European Double Gold for their classic Pilsner, Head Brewer, Clark, has been working his magic and the team are thrilled to announce their classic 4.2% Pilsner is now Gluten Free!
The team at Bedlam love to share the beer they brew with as many people as possible – and now this includes Coeliacs. It retains the same crisp and refreshing flavour, but it now means they can share with people who are gluten intolerant, gluten sensitive, and Coeliacs.
Clark tells us, “We brew with the same ingredients as ever, but make a few changes to the brewing process, allowing the gluten in the beer to be broken down to the point where it is well below 20ppm – the threshold for being considered Gluten Free. Just as tasty and no compromise on flavour, but without the gluten! …. With barbecues around the corner, the timing couldn’t be better!”
At present their keg Pilsner, 440ml and 330ml Pilsner cans are all gluten free and soon to be followed by their bottled Pilsner. When you enjoy Pilsner on tap in bars, pubs and venues including Brighton’s icon Dome Theatre it will now be Gluten Free!
Bedlam’s packaged beers are all Vegan (with the exception of Kelp Porter) and so they’re delighted to launch this gluten free beer!
Tasting Notes
Refreshingly crisp and brewed using traditional German brewing techniques and ingredients. German Pils’ malt provides light honey notes. The hops; Saaz and Saphir, produce a fresh, citrus aroma and flavour with an elegant bitterness.
