To celebrate a fantastic year of Tap Takeovers, 2019’s final Takeover is in collaboration with Pig’s Ears Beer who is launching its second BEER + ART series at Tate Modern. The special 8 brewery Tap Takeover will feature some of the UK’s best breweries who will each be showcasing a one-off brew and a limited edition artwork for the occasion.
Brewery artwork is a large part of the identity, and a driving factor behind the success of the brands we love. In celebration of the fantastic can art that artists have designed Gipsy Hill, Cloudwater, Burning Sky, Pressure Drop, Buxton, Burnt Mill, Lost & Grounded and Whiplash have all been invited to bring a oneoff piece of artwork, to be showcased on the night. By presenting the artist’s creations as both branded packaging and also a piece of independent artwork, the BEER + ART series aims to begin to explore how these artists use design as a marketing tool, brand identity and as Art in its own right.
The brewers and brewery artists will be available on the night to answer any questions guests may have, providing a fun and informal space for beer makers and beer lovers alike to come together to discuss all things beer and art.
The Terrace Bar will also be serving up a delicious menu of tasty street food to go with the beers, available with a meal deal ticket.
