Big Penny Social Announces Müller Rice as Presenting Partner for 2024 Summer Football Screenings

Big Penny Social – the UK’s biggest beer hall – is delighted to announce Müller Rice as their headline presenting partner for this summer’s screenings of football, taking place from 14 June – 14 July.

The partnership – brought together by sponsorship specialists Three Thirteen and Müller Rice’s creative agency VCCP – will see the brand build on their highly successful ‘Rice, Rice Baby’ campaign from 2022/23 with new creative featuring England football star Declan Rice and an unmissable activation zone at the entrance of Big Penny Social, sampling activity and TV adverts rolling throughout the tournament.

Big Penny Social has a capacity for over 1,400 fans in 35,000 square feet and since launching in 2020, has rapidly become one of the UK’s top venues to watch screenings of major sporting events. Demand peaked for England Vs France in the 2022 World Cup, where 54,000 people tried to get tickets in 27 seconds to watch the game at Big Penny Social.

The experience for fans this summer will be elevated further with two new massive HD LED screens being installed including one in the 450-capacity sunny beer garden, live bands on stage and a marching brass band creating an electric carnival atmosphere for the big matches.

During the summer over 40,000 fans are expected to attend the venue to enjoy the football screenings, enjoying award winning Big Penny beer pouring from over 100 taps and food from Big Penny Social’s kitchen and BBQ.

Frank Maguire – Head of Marketing at Big Penny comments “We’re delighted to have secured Müller Rice as our presenting partner this summer. It is an iconic brand from a family-owned business, and with Declan Rice fronting the campaign, is the perfect accompaniment to watch England bring it home this summer – we believe! It gets harder every tournament for us to beat the last one, but with two new screens, a new house band, our new Euros Ambassador campaign we’ve created and some exciting bits under wraps for now, we’re very well set to do just that. Big Penny Social is the perfect venue for brands to partner with on activations – the space is massive and versatile, we’ve built a big audience amongst a demographic who are hard to reach, and we are really adaptive and committed to doing everything to help brands come to life in the right way.”

Additionally, Lauren Bell – Founder and Director from Three Thirteen mentions: “Thrilled to be working alongside Müller Rice at the Big Penny for Euro 2024! It’s the perfect match. Here’s to a winning team on and off the field!”

Müller UK said “Join us at the Big Penny Social fanzone for the Euros 2024 as Müller Rice kick off the tournament just weeks away.

Tickets for the event must be pre-booked in advance and are available from the Big Penny Social website with a priority system in place for subscribers and those who have previously booked sports events at Big Penny

Big Penny:

Big Penny is a hospitality operator that aims to create spaces and experiences that bring people together in community-focused venues. Guests can expect a warm welcome and to enjoy great beer, food and times spent together.

The brand was born in September 2022, following the sale of the Truman’s Beer trademark, when their flagship venue – Truman’s Social Club in Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow – became Big Penny Social. The company also operates Big Penny Brews in London City Airport.

Given the company’s brewing origins, beer still sits at the heart of its offering, with four Big Penny house serves (IPA, Session IPA, Lager and Pale Ale) brewed exclusively for them by a neighbouring brewery.

Big Penny Social:

Big Penny Social is a new type of community-focused venue designed to be a pub, arts centre and town square all rolled into one. A place to eat, drink and be entertained; for all ages and every walk of life; a place to enjoy a quick pint, entertain the family or gather for a national celebration.

Located just off Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow, Big Penny Social is enormous – it has a beer hall, a versatile events space and a great big sunny beer garden. With capacity for over 1,400 people, you’re pretty much guaranteed the perfect spot to socialise, whether you’re hosting a big celebration or just want to spend quality time with friends. There’s also room for casual meetings and anyone looking for a bit of space for themselves, to work or relax.

The food and drink menu focuses on seasonal ingredients and local producers, headlined by a rotating selection of beers, sourdough pizzas and Sunday roasts. Everyone’s needs are catered for, with alcohol-free beer on tap, a huge selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, plenty of choices for kids, and options for gluten-free (and other) special diets.

A massive programme of live events, from live music, big-screen sports and movie nights to family discos, craft markets and comedy – plus free ping pong, pool, table football and board games – ensures there is fun and entertainment for one and all.

A warm welcome awaits everyone (and their dog!) to enjoy great beer, great food and great times spent together. Because that’s what Big Penny is all about.
