– Blonde 330ml Now Available Across Chain’s 200+ UK Stores –

Black Isle Brewing Co. has secured a national off-trade listing with Majestic Wine, the UK’s largest independent wine retailer. The deal will see the organic craft brewer’s flagship beer, Black Isle Organic Blonde (330ml bottle), rolled out across all of the group’s 200+ UK stores, and online shop, from today (Wednesday 1st February 2017).

Commenting on the listing, Black Isle founder David Gladwin said: “It’s great for an organic beer to get a UK-wide listing with a retailer like Majestic. They recognise the growing demand for high-quality organic beer that offers genuine provenance and sustainability. We believe everywhere that sells beer should have at least one organic choice, and of course, we want that to be Black Isle. Our message is drink great beer and help the environment at the same time.”

Beth Pearce, buyer at Majestic, added: “Black Isle is a fantastic independent craft brewer with very firm beliefs and principles. They care passionately about what they do. That’s something we admire greatly, not to mention the fact that their organic Blonde is an outstanding beer. We’re excited to be the first retailer to offer them a national sales platform and look forward to what the future will bring.”

Black Isle Brewery is the only organic brewery in Scotland, and the leading organic craft brewers in the UK.  Located on the Black Isle, in the heart of the Highlands, they sell beer to the on and off trade all over Scotland.  Black Isle’s organic beers are exported to 15 countries worldwide including Hong Kong, Japan, Sweden, USA and Russia.

Blonde will be available from Majestic in a 4 x 330ml pack, and 24 x 330ml case.

About Black Isle Brewery

Black Isle Brewery was started by David Gladwin, in 1998. An unemployed beer lover, he set out to make world class beer using barley and hops grown on organic farms, without the use of destructive chemicals, as nature intended.

The brewery is surrounded by 130 acres of farm land and trees, bought eight years ago and turned into a working organic farm. The farm grows a small amount of organic barley for brewing, and holds a flock of black hebridean sheep, originally rustled 12 years ago from the nearby Culloden battlefield. These native bred sheep eat the spent grain from the brewery mash tun and graze organic grass pastures to help build natural fertility and grow more barley.

The farm provides the water source for the brewery, and also grows organic and biodynamic herbs and veg for staff and visitors to the brewery, and for salads and pizzas in the Black Isle Bar in downtown Inverness.

Organic production promotes biodiversity, helps wildlife, and provides a mixed and sustainable ecology for flora and fauna to thrive. It is the antithesis of modern agro industrialist production which is driven mostly by monoculture and profit at the expense of the environment.
