Bristol’s Wiper and True Release Low-Alcohol Version of Flagship Pale Ale Kaleidoscope

The 0.5% beer will join Wiper and True’s range of permanent beers

Independent Bristol brewery Wiper and True have just released a low-alcohol version of their flagship Pale Ale, Kaleidoscope, right in time for Dry January. Brewed using innovative, market-leading dealcoholizing technology, Kaleidoscope represents a step forward in quality and technique for independently brewed, UK-made low-alcohol beer. If you would like to try a sample of Kaleidoscope, please email alice@wiperandtrue.com with your details.

The release of low-alcohol Kaleidoscope follows the launch of 0.5% Munich Helles-style Lager Tomorrow in 2022, which received widespread critical acclaim from journalists and consumers alike.

Low-Alcohol Kaleidoscope is brewed using premium malts and the finest American hops, sourced from market-leading grower-owned hop supplier Yakima Chief. Using the same beloved combination of Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic as their flagship 4.2% pale ale, 0.5% Kaleidoscope expresses an array of bright citrus and vibrant fruit flavours, balanced with gentle, clean bitterness.

Once fully fermented, the beer is then gently processed through a 60-hour long period of dealcoholisation at the Bristol brewery, which preserves the full spectrum of its carefully designed flavour profile while removing almost all alcohol – only 0.5% ABV remains. This innovative, market-leading technology produces un unparalleled beer quality, without compromise on flavour or mouthfeel. Harmonious, refreshing, and very drinkable, the 0.5% pale ale joins Wiper and True’s lineup of permanently available beers.

Speaking about the release of Kaleidoscope, founder Michael Wiper says:

“The level of excitement in the brewery about the low-alcohol Kaleidoscope release is off the charts. We are genuinely trying to create the best low-alcohol pale ale in the UK, and we think we have nailed that. We can’t wait to share it.”

According to Nielsen’s off-trade data, the low and no-alcohol category grew by 23% in the last 12 months, at a total growth of £25.4 million, with similar growth in the on-trade. Wiper and True’s 0.5% Pale Ale Kaleidoscope will be available in both keg and can, allowing consumers to enjoy a pint in their local pub, or crack open a beer in the comfort of their own home.

Kaleidoscope is available to the public from today in can and draught, and journalist samples are available now. Please contact alice@wiperandtrue.com if you would like samples.
