The Victory Pub & Kitchen at Cardiff’s De Vere Village Urban Resort is celebrating having become the first hotel-chain pub to be honoured with the prestigious Cask Marque Award.
Following surprise inspections by expert Cask Marque assessorsduring the last couple of months, the high quality of the Victory’s ales has now been formally recognised.
All cask ales at the pub have been assessed to make sure they meet brewer’s standards for temperature, appearance, aroma and taste.
Receiving the Cask Marque Award means that The Victory Pub & Kitchen is now accredited by qualified experts for the skilled handling of its high quality real ale.
Speaking about the award, pub manager Kristian Lloyd said: “We’re the only hotel group in Cardiff to have passed the Cask Marque, so it is something to be really proud of.
“Accreditation from the Cask Marque Trust shows how hard we work to provide our customers with the highest quality product and service, be they a regular patron or a new hotel guest.
“Hopefully, an award from such a high-profile group of experts will lead to more people from Cardiff and further afield seeking out the Victory for that perfect pint!”
Cask Marque assessor Howard Morgan, presenting the award, said: “Congratulations to the Victory for achieving the prestigious Cask Marque award and making De Vere Village the only major hotel group in the area to have this accolade.
“Kristian and his team have shown tremendous enthusiasm and determination in order to achieve this standard, and the customers are certainly benefiting from supping some of the best pints in the area!
“I am looking forward to visiting the Victory again in the future to check on the beer quality and offer my expertise and support as required.”
