The beers should be released nationwide in the week commencing 12th February, with tap takeovers all over the UK to be announced in the next few weeks.
Half Acre were one of the first brewers to open in Chicago, a city well known for its incredible craft beer scene. Their flagship American pale ale, Daisy Cutter, is considered one of the finest hop-forward beers in the world and the fact that we have been able to bring it to the UK is huge for us as a business and as beer lovers.
Jonny Garrett, Cave Direct marketing manager, says: “We have been lovers of Half Acre since trying their range at the Craft Brewers Conference in Philadelphia. Daisy Cutter is the kind of beer all breweries with they could make – it’s ultra clean and refreshing, but loaded with citrusy fruits and hints of pine and resin. Sorting everything out has taken time but it shows our commitment to bringing in the world’s best breweries for UK beer lovers. Hopefully there will be lots more to come.”
If the launch goes well we hope to bring in further batches, and to cut down the time between brewing and delivering to UK pubs and bottleshops. Even so it’s been a great test of our new preorder system, where limited-run beers are advertised at 2pm on Mondays and presold before reaching the UK, as well as the cold store developments we have made in the last year.
The beers are available for preorder from 2pm today, so if you didn’t receive the email contact your rep ASAP. For press enquiries contact jonny@cavedirect.com.
