Cider’s Web – a brand new podcast, created by Emma Inch – producer of Fermentation Beer & Brewing Radio and former British Guild of Beer Writers Beer Writer of the Year – launched on Friday 14th February.
The podcast takes a fresh look at the contemporary cider scene – both in the UK and overseas – and follows Emma’s journey from beer lover to cider admirer.
Emma says: ‘Previously I was one of those people who dismissed cider out of hand. I’d drunk a bit of it in my earlier life and then turned my back on it. Over the past couple of years, however, I’ve realised that there is much more to cider than the mass-produced drinks I’d tasted before. Interest in craft cider – or fine cider – is on the rise, and there are so many wonderful flavours and stories to explore. If you think you only like beer, listen up – you might find that you too get caught in Cider’s Web!’
The podcast addresses issues such as cider tasting, food pairing and sustainability, and also highlights some of the exciting ‘beer-cider hybrids’ that are being created by the likes of Burning Sky, Hawkes and Mills Brewing. Interviewees include Tom Oliver (Oliver’s Cider), Susanna Forbes (Little Pomona Cidery), Albert Johnson (Ross-on-Wye Cider & Perry), Pete Brown, Gabe Cook and Jane Peyton.
The podcast is available to subscribe and listen to via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Acast, and other podcast hosts. You can find all the links via the website: www.fermentationonline.com/ciders-web
