Competing pubs team up to donate to The Tower of London Remembers Project

Five pubs from competing pub companies have teamed up to make a joint donation to The Tower of London Remembers Project. A total of £38,000 has been donated from the Hung, Drawn and Quartered (Fuller’s), The Oyster Shed (Youngs), the New Moon (Greene King), The Liberty Bounds (J.D. Wetherspoon) and All Bar One, Byward Street (Mitchells & Butlers).

Having experienced incredible trade as a result of the success of the evolving installation of ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’, which saw 888,246 ceramic poppies progressively fill the Tower of London’s famous moat, these five competing pubs have together pledged to make a donation to the six charities benefitting from The Tower of London Remembers project.

Simon Emeny, Chief Executive of Fuller’s, said: “The Tower of London Project is no less than a phenomenon. It has gripped everyone’s imagination this summer and we, along with the other four pubs, have seen a large increase in the number of customers. We have benefitted from this spectacle so it is an honour to be able to give something back and share that benefit with the six deserving charities.”

The Tower of London Remembers project helped support six service charities in the UK. These six charities which this donation will be split equally between are Cobseco, Combat Stress, Coming Home, Help for Heroes, the Royal British Legion and the Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Families Association (SSAFA)
