Craft Beer For The People: new book by Richard Taylor

Guild member Richard Taylor has written his first book, Craft Beer For The People. It was written with James Watt and Martin Dickie and is published by Mitchell Beazley.

BrewDog is one of the world’s fastest growing food and drink brands. Well-known for their crowdfunded, rapid expansion and iconoclastic approach, the company now has a wide range of award-winning craft beers, 50 BrewDog-branded bars around the world and has just opened a new brewery in Ohio. Their first beer book, BrewDog: Craft Beer for the People, written by Richard Taylor with James Watt and Martin Dickie, focuses on explaining craft beer to the widest possible audience – promising to excite the craft beer connoisseur and newbie alike.

Jam-packed with information, the book includes everything from how beer is made, looking at the crucial ingredients and decisions brewers make, to how to understand different beer styles, how to cook with beer and match beers and food, and even how to brew your own (complete with full recipes from BrewDog and other brewers). It’s both a window into the BrewDog world and a repository of essential craft beer information.

Designed in the highly individual style of the brand, the book also includes quirky features such as spaces to place your drop of beer once you’ve ticked a particular beer off your ‘to-drink’ list, and DIY beer mats.

This is a highly original and informative approach to appreciating and enjoying craft beers of all kinds, including many non-BrewDog beers.
