The BBPA has announced that David Forde, Managing Director of HEINEKEN UK, will be proposed as the next BBPA Chairman at its AGM in December as the successor to Jonathan Neame, Chief Executive of Shepherd Neame. Jonathan has been Chairman of the British Beer & Pub Association since May 2012. David will serve for a one year term from December 2015.
David has been with HEINEKEN for 27 years and took up his current role as Managing Director of HEINEKEN UK in 2013. He was previously Managing Director of HEINEKEN Ireland following a number of senior commercial roles across the global business. He already plays an active role in the work of the BBPA, serving on the BBPA Board since January 2015.
David Forde comments:
“I am delighted at the prospect of succeeding Jonathan Neame. Jonathan has done a superb job representing our industry, galvanising the members to work together and leading effective campaigns delivering results for the whole industry – including a historic hat-trick of beer duty cuts. Beer and pubs are part of our national culture and if selected, I look forward to working even more closely with the BBPA team and members to represent our great industry.”
BBPA Chairman Jonathan Neame comments:
“I am delighted that David is willing to serve as BBPA Chairman. As Managing Director of one of our leading brewing and pub companies, he will bring a great breadth of experience to the role. David already plays an active and valuable role in the association. The role of Chairman at the BPBA is to lead on our strategic direction, and I am sure David will play an important role in moving the BBPA forward.”

The British Beer & Pub Association is the leading body representing Britain’s brewers and pub companies. The Association is more than a century old and was originally founded as the Brewers’ Society in 1904. Our members account for some 90 per cent of beer brewed in Britain today, and own around 20,000 of the nation’s pubs.
