Ding Ding! Beavertown announce ‘Beer Replacement Service’ during planned strikes over June Bank Holiday Weekend

  • British brewery to give lifts to delayed commuters and hand out cans of beer to those affected by strikes next weekend
  • The ‘Beer Replacement Service’ will launch on Friday 3rd June between the affected Euston and Green Park bus replacement routes
  • A select number of lucky commuters will also be able to hop on the bespoke route master and get a free lift through London

Beavertown Brewery is set to save the day this Jubilee weekend, giving lifts to stranded commuters and offering cans of free beer to people waiting in bus replacement queues, following news of a potential tube strike on Friday 3rd June that’s set to cause major disruptions in the capital.

Delayed commuters waiting on the affected Euston to Green Park routes will be able to flag down Beavertown’s ‘Beer Replacement Service’ routemaster to get their hands on a chilled can of Beavertown beer.

Friday, 3rd June is predicted to be an exceptionally busy day in the capital, as day two of the Bank Holiday celebrations kick off. The tube strike will force Londoners and those visiting the city to use the notoriously slow bus replacement service at Euston and Green Park where huge crowds and extended travel times are expected to create ‘travel chaos’.

Hoping to add some light relief for Jubilee revelers affected by the strikes and desperate to get to the pub, Beavertown are launching their ‘Beer Replacement Service’ – a decked out Beavertown Route Master travelers can flag down for an ice cold can of their iconic British beer.

Beavertown will also be offering 15 people the chance to hop on the bus and get a lift along the route. As well as skipping the queues, they’ll have the added bonus of being treated to some delicious, Beavertown beer – kicking off the weekend as they should.

Customers can enter by emailing their name, telephone number and age to beavertown@herebedragons.co. All entrants must be over 18, and winners will be picked at random.

Tom Rainsford, Marketing Director at Beavertown Brewery, said: ‘We’ve been looking forward to sipping on an ice cold pint in the pub as much as the next person this bank holiday – which is why we knew we had to jump in when all this news of tube strikes and travel delays were threatening to derail people’s plans.

In true Beavertown fashion, we’ve wrapped up a bus in our iconic designs and filled it up with cans of our delicious beer to give away to thirsty commuters next Friday. If you catch a glimpse of a classic British double decker bus plastered with skulls and Gamma men – flag it down to get your hands on a can of our famous craft beer, on us.’

The ‘Beer Replacement Service’ will be operating along the affected Euston to Green Park route from midday to 2.30pm on Friday, 3rd June. Follow @Beavertownbeer on Instagram and Twitter for more updates.
