Drinks Maven, a new drinks website useful for anyone interested in excellent drinks is set to launch this Spring.
Founded by journalist, brewer, barfly and pub awards judge Jessica Mason, who has been writing for the drinks industry for almost a decade, Drinks Maven will focus on new, interesting and flavoursome drinks of high quality as well as the venues and retailers making them available to the public.
Drinks Maven Founder Jessica Mason said: “There are so many positive reasons to enjoy going out and trying new drinks. I believe that there has, however, been a dilution in the quality of what is often highlighted as truly good and that does not help anyone discern which drinks are worth their time or their money or a broader trade listing. Drinks Maven is for all people who have an interest in drinks – across softs, spirits, beers, ciders, wines and a whole host of others. It will be a site dedicated to discerning drinks selections and will be for anyone interested in not wasting their time sipping something without thought, care or regard. It will shine a light onto premium brands, exciting trends, drinks styles and serves as well as guide people to locations where they can try them.”
Jessica has changed her Twitter handle from @JessicaCMason – which she used in her former role as Drinks & Content Editor of The Publican’s Morning Advertiser – to @drinksmaven and can be found on Instagram @drinksmaven
Drinks news, trend information and event invitations, can be sent to Drinks Maven on: or by calling 0793 922 0485. Postal address for drinks, press releases, invitations and correspondence will be: Drinks Maven, The Hideout, 19 Queen’s Gardens, North Laine, Brighton, BN1 4AR
In Jessica’s time at the PMA, she spearheaded the positivity initiative #TryJanuary helping pubs, bars and restaurants to gain uplifts in takings across the UK during a month historically known for a lull in trading.
The Drinks Maven website will launch within the next month. Jessica Mason will also be available for freelance writing and consultancy projects via the above email address.
Jessica Mason has previously worked for The Publican’s Morning Advertiser, both The Publican & the Morning Advertiser prior to its merge, just-drinks, MCA, Restaurant magazine, Frontier magazine and writes features for the TFWA Daily for its travel retail shows in Cannes and Singapore.
Not content just writing about drinks, Jessica seeks to learn how drinks are made and believes in and cares about the enormous talent within the hospitality industry. Jessica is a keen brewer – she has been tutored by Dark Star, The Kernel, Burning Sky and Beavertown and now homebrews from her basement in the North Laine in Brighton. She also studied the WSET Levels 1,2 and 3 to highlight the merits of gaining wine and spirit qualifications and is a contributing author to the book 1001 Whiskies You Must Try Before You Die. She is a judge for The Publican Awards, the Great British Pub Awards, the World Beer Awards and the International Beer Challenge.
