Fortitude, an 8.5% Imperial Stout will release from award-winning farmhouse brewery Duration Brewing in Norfolk. Available from the brewery shop at Abbey Farm, West Acre (and online store ) on Friday 4th December and across the UK at independent retailers soon after.
Rich, bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee are the tasting notes provided. The label reads: “This straight-up Imperial Stout that endures the ebb and flow of time bringing courage to a bleak winter. Caramel and burnt sugar on the nose lead to bittersweet chocolate, toasted bread and coffee all enveloped in a rich smooth mouthfeel. This Imperial Stout ends dry with light alcohol warmth to bring great fortitude.”
Speaking to head brewer Derek Bates he says ‘The aim of our first Imperial Stout was to create a balanced interplay of fruity Belgian yeast esters to the coffee/roast of the malts with our house Belgian blend of yeasts leading to a rounder and more flavoursome imperial stout than may have come from the more classic English ale yeasts’.
