With the summer temperatures rising and the beer season upon us, Waitrose has rolled out Iceland’s one-of-a-kind Einstök Arctic Pale Ale across its stores.
Available now in a 33cl can and priced at £2.19 each, the refreshingly Icelandic beer uses the country’s inimitable pure water and three types of special hops. It joins the brewery’s much-loved White Ale (wheat beer) on the shelves in Waitrose.

Full flavoured with beautiful hop aromas, toffee notes and a thirst-quenching, crisp bitter finish, the beer is the perfect match to wide range of summer barbecue fayre.
Samantha Burke, Managing Director of Love Drinks, which imports and distributes the brand in the UK said:
“The Einstök brand has built a strong following in the UK over the last few years, especially amongst Waitrose’s discerning customers. The Arctic Pale Ale packs that classic Icelandic punch in the flavour department and offers an ultra-refreshing finish. Great with all manner of grilled treats, we think it will be a big hit alongside the White Ale this al fresco season.”
Based just 60 miles south of the Arctic Circle in the fishing port of Akureyri, the Einstök brewery inspires adventure through its unique provenance, passion for life and innovation.
Utilising the world’s purest water, which flows from prehistoric glaciers down the Hlíðarfjall Mountain and through ancient lava fields, the brewery’s quest is to produce craft beers that are refreshing, full in flavour and beautifully balanced.
Under the watchful eye of Head Brewer Baldur Karason, the first Icelander in fifty years to train at the prestigious brewing program at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, the brewery has been dominating market share in its homeland with the beers now accounting for 80% of Iceland’s beer exports.
Einstök Artic Pale Ale is also available from Beers of Europe, Masters of Malt, Ocado, TheDrinkShop and Drinksupermarket.
