Bath based Electric Bear brewery has upped its brewing credentials with the appointment of a new head brewer.

Ian Morris joins the brewery bringing with him a wealth of brewing experience gained from 2 multi-award winning breweries, Arbor Ales and Bingham Brewery and takes up the new role this month.

Ian will be overseeing the core range of beers including Edison Pilsner, Livewire IPA and Elemental Golden ale while also developing a new range of experimental beers.

He will be responsible for all aspects of production and instrumental in building the breweries capacity as it continues to grow.

Chris Lewis, founder of Electric Bear Brewery said; ‘We’ve had a really exciting year this year winning three awards at the World Beer Awards, getting listings with national restaurants and running an extensive calendar of events at our taproom. To keep up with demand we needed to recruit more top talent into the brewery and that’s what Ian brings to the table.

“Next year is going to be even busier as we put more of a focus on gaining further national distribution and getting more awards under our belts. We ended last year on a high and are really looking forward to kicking off the 2017 brewing calendar with Ian at the helm.

On his appointment Ian commented; “Electric Bear is a fantastic brewery with huge amounts of potential, it’s what attracted me to the role. They’ve put strong foundations in place with great beers, a loyal fanbase and good distribution channels. We’re looking forward to lots of festivals next year, winning awards and making the beer more widely available across the country.”

Since launching in 2015 Electric Bear Brewing Co. has increased its brewing capacity with the installation of 20-barrel fermentation tanks and is now supplying restaurants group Handmade Burger Kitchen with a range of craft beers.

The brewery achieved three World Beer Awards in 2016 for Heisenberg Dopplebock, Mochachocolata Ya! Ya! and Samurye.
