FIVE POINTS TAPS INTO LOW-ABV MARKET WITH NEW 2.8% MICRO PALE

The ultimate work from home beer

Available via home delivery via the Five Points webstore and takeaway from the newly-reopened, The Pembury Tavern

London’s largest independent brewery, The Five Points Brewing Company, has today announced a new addition to its seasonal range for Summer 2020. Created with conscious drinkers in mind, Five Points’ lower-strength Micro Pale (2.8%) is packed with Cascade and Vic Secret hops, making it micro in strength but mighty in flavour. Micro Pale is perfect for those looking to reduce their alcohol consumption during lockdown, without stopping entirely. The news comes as the Five Points-operated pub and Hackney institution, The Pembury Tavern, reopens for takeaway service serving up its legendary Red, Green and White pizzas, as well a much-missed pint of Five Points. Low and no-alcohol beverages continue to be a growing trend in the UK, where last year an IWSR survey found that 65% of alcohol consumers aged 25-34 were making a conscious effort to cut back on their intake. Responding to this demand, Five Points has announced a new ‘lower-alcohol’ addition to its seasonal range of beers: the 2.8% ABV Micro Pale.

Ed Mason, Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Five Points Brewing Company, said: “Our Micro Pale is the perfect session beer for these times. Packed full of flavour but only 2.8% in strength, it’s a great option for those warm summer evenings after a long day working from home.

“It’s also our first new beer launched under lockdown. We had been planning Micro Pale as a draught-only release initially, but when the lockdown began we had to pivot rapidly and get the beer into bottles so our customers would still get a chance to enjoy it from home.”

Micro Pale is just one of the beers available at the Five Points-operated East London boozer, The Pembury Tavern, which has recently reopened for takeaway service. Fans of the brewery can also pick up two-pint draught bottles of the brewery’s Pale, JUPA, XPA and Pils beers, as well as the full range of Five Points beer that’s currently available in the webstore. This includes the all-new 5L mini casks, which allow drinkers the opportunity to play pub landlord and pour their own pints at home.

Hackney-born, The Five Points Brewing Company is recognised as a producer of high quality and vibrant beers by the brewery’s local community, London and the rest of the UK. Always accessible, the brewery has a full range of core beers which cater for all drinkers’ needs, whether they be beer connoisseurs or first-time craft drinkers.

Micro Pale is available now in 330ml bottles from the Five Points webstore and takeaway via The Pembury Tavern, as well as the soon to launch Five Points App which will be coming next week. For more information including delivery and collection options, please visit shop.fivepointsbrewing.co.uk
