Free Trade Tasting: Celebrate Tartarus’ 2nd Birthday at A Hoppy Place, Maidenhead

The August Bank Holiday, Friday 26th sees A Hoppy Place Maidenhead host a pretty cool meet the brewer, with trade colleagues and beer writers being invited for a free tasting of the guest brewery’s brand new new birthday beer as a part of the first big public event at A Hoppy Place’s new flagship outlet.

Leeds based Brewery Tartarus Brewing are celebrating their second birthday, hosted by A Hoppy Place in Maidenhead.

Tartarus, now turning 2 years old, is the project of Jack Roberts and Jordan Orpen, co owners. Along with Sam Farrer (their resident artist), Jack and Jordan create and sell beers that… well… not many breweries would go commercial with.

The release (and “incident inducing”) beer that really put A Hoppy Place’s resident beer sommelier, and co owner Dave onto this brewery –  was the original Abaddon: A 17% imperial stout that genuinely drinks like a 9 or 10% beer, and allegedly believe the origin of the Ralph Wiggum I’m in Danger meme.

Dave will be hosting a short talk with the Tartarus gang at 20:00, and all and sundry will then be partying on through to close at 23:00.

Bring your best Q+A game as there’ll be a good chance to chat to team Tartarus, and we invite beer writers and the trade to attend and sample their second birthday beer free of charge. Just ask staff for a taster, or speak to Dave and Naomi on the night.
