Veltins, the independent family-owned German brewer, will soon have their award-winning premium Pilsener on draught in selected Fuller’s pubs, having signed a deal with the leading London-based family brewer and retailer. These prestigious English and German breweries have a great deal in common, especially their long-standing reputation for brewing beers of the finest quality. Veltins Pilsener will be available in Fuller’s managed and tenanted pubs from June 2012.
Ian Bray, Managing Director, Fuller’s Beer Company said: “We are confident we have chosen one of the best Pilseners on the market. It’s a great fit for us as the brand is regarded as one of the finest by beer connoisseurs, and Fuller’s customers expect only the best quality brands in our pubs”.
Veltins is one of the biggest-selling Pilsners in Germany, and the company is based in the Sauerland, near Dortmund. Veltins sponsors FC Schalke, one of the country’s most successful football teams, who play at the 61,000-capacity Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. The Brewery has a close partnership with Porsche and is the sponsor of the Porsche Mobil Super Cup, the international motor racing series supporting the FIA Formula One World Championship.
Veltins Pilsener (4.8% ABV) is brewed using the natural water drawn from the brewery’s own spring — which has its source in the mountain range where the brewery is located — and adheres to the ‘German Purity Law’ of 1516. This regulation states that only the purest ingredients (water, barley, hops, and in modern times, yeast)) can be used in the production of beer.
