Scottish craft brewery Fyne Ales win six medals at this year’s International Beer Challenge
For the third year in a row Scottish craft brewer Fyne Ales has won a number of awards at the prestigious International Beer Challenge. This year’s haul totalled six medals from the competition including two gold medals for Jarl and Hurricane Jack. Sublime stout and Highlander achieved silver medals while Vital Spark and Maverick were both awarded bronze medals.
Commenting on the this year’s success Fyne Ales Managing Director Jamie Delap said, “This is the third year that we have won two gold medals at the International Beer Challenge, and it is great to see that our beers repeatedly winning in competition with some of the best craft beers from around the world. Every beer we entered this year won a medal, which is a great testament to the quality of our beers across our range.”
The international beer challenge has been running for 16 years rewarding and promoting high quality beers from across the world. The competition attracts entries from over 30 different countries with participants ranging from the largest brewers in the world to pioneering microbrewers from the UK, U.S.A. and Scandinavia. The competition involves a rigorous and independent judging process and is judged by over 50 judges from around the world and across the industry. Winning awards in this competition is a testament to the high quality of Fyne Ales beers as viewed by peers in the industry.
Earlier in the summer Fyne Ales also received six awards at the Society of Independent Brewers Scottish regional competition with the brewery claiming five gold medals and one bronze. They also won CAMRA Scotland’s Champion Best Bitter of Scotland for the second year running.
The impressive collection of awards makes it a great start to the awards season for Fyne Ales.
