GBBF Announce Official Charity For The Festival

The Campaign for Real Ale, CAMRA, is proud to announce that the official charity for the Great British Beer Festival, GBBF, is Action Duchenne.

Action Duchenne is a charity dedicated to the research of Duchenne muscular dystrophy and supporting families affected by Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy.

Ian Hill, the festival organiser said,

GBBF is proud to be working with such a special charity, this year we hope to raise awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy amongst our festival goers and also raise a substantial amount of money for the charity to help contribute to the research being carried out.

There will be collection tins around the festival for festival goers to donate towards the charity as well as representatives from the charity at the festival. They will be educating festival-goers about the charity and its mission.

CEO of Action Duchenne, Paul Lenihan said,

I am absolutely delighted that Action Duchenne has been chosen as the official Charity of the year for the Great British Beer Festival 2016.  As a small charity supporting people with a rare condition, it’s a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of, and funds for, Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Always at the forefront of research into finding a cure for Duchenne, our staff and volunteers are very grateful and excited to be invited to this prestigious event.

The Great British Beer Festival takes place from the 9th – 13th of August, tickets are available online at www.gbbf.org.uk/tickets.
