Get Your Head in the Game with Five Points Brewing

The Five Points Brewing Co will be hosting a charity event on Wednesday 23rd January, in aid of Headway East London, which supports people affected by brain injury. From Connect Four to Dominoes, guests are invited to indulge in some old-school, brain-stimulating board game fun and find out more about the charity.

Wednesday 23rd January
6:00pm – 10pm
The Pembury Tavern,
90 Amhurst Road, London,
E8 1JH

For those with a competitive streak, Five Points and Headway East London will be hosting a ‘Challenge Headway’, whereby the public can take on their members for a chance to win a free beer – it’s no easy feat! Guests can also take part in a charity raffle and will have the opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind artwork, made by the Headway East London members.

Since Five Points began in 2013, part of the company’s ethos has always been to contribute to both the local and wider community around them. Each year they partner with two local charities, to support their fundraising efforts; in 2018, one of these was Headway East London (HEL). The final event culminates in a battle of the board games, along with beer, pizza and music provided by the charity.

Working across 13 London boroughs, HEL offers specialist support and services for local survivors of brain injury, as well as family, friends and carers. Last year they directly supported 875 people affected by brain injury, providing therapies, advocacy, creative projects and peer, community and family support, with the overall aim of improving well-being and quality of life. HEL empowers survivors to (re)discover skills and interests, and to share more widely their stories, turning negative experiences into positive outcomes.

“We began our partnership at the beginning of the 2018 with Headway East London, hosting a Hackney Beer Hop, with all proceeds donated to the charity; it seems only right that we close the partnership in the same way,” said Ed Mason, Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Five Points Brewing Company. “We are incredibly grateful for the support of our local community and would love for everyone to come along to the event; enjoy some great beer, traditional board games, and join us in supporting this brilliant charity.”
