Greendale Construction continues impressive modernisation and re-development of Hall and Woodhouse brewery.

Another huge logistical challenge has been overcome by Dorset Chartered Builders, Greendale Construction, as part of their work at the Hall and Woodhouse Blandford Brewery site which is currently undergoing an impressive £3.8 million re-development and modernisation.

Part of the works have involved pouring an incredible 600 cubic metres of concrete to create a 2500 square foot concrete slab, involving over 100 deliveries of concrete to the brewery which remains a ‘live’ working environment.

Greendale has reached week 37 of the 50 week programme which is due for completion in February 2015. The main bottling building and packaging hall structure has been fully erected and cladding / roof works are nearing completion. The fermenting vessels extension building reached practical completion 3 weeks ago and the building is now in use and brewing beer.

Internal offices and team welfare rooms have been built and the fit-outs have commenced, these facilities are a great improvement on the previous buildings which have been demolished.

The final phase of the contract will start in early January 2015 when Greendale will construct an external weather canopy over the current lorry loading bay.

Greendale Construction Contracts Director, Andy Musselwhite, said: “This is a great project for Greendale to be involved in, and we are extremely pleased the fermentation vessel extension is now brewing beer. This is testament to the on-going working relationship between all parties.”

The new Hall and Woodhouse brewery premises and bottling plant are situated adjacent to the original buildings in Blandford St Mary which have been a part of the town for 115 years. Badger is the No. 2 premium bottled Ale brand in the UK and the brewery is the largest employer in the town and one of largest private companies in the south-west of England.
