Greene King unveils new recipe yardbird

Greene King Brewing & Brands has launched Yardbird into its permanent calendar, revising the recipe by adding four times more hops to pack a real punch.

The 4% abv pale ale was first introduced as a seasonal ale and takes inspiration from the freedom and energy of American jazz. The beer which has been crafted by Greene King’s brewer Ross O’Hara allows the hops to take centre stage and shine through. Using American hops Citra, Centennial and Simcoe, Yardbird has a zesty and tropical aroma, packs a real citrus punch to entice the taste buds and results in a clean bitter finish, leaving you wanting more.

Best described as a light hearted, free spirited beer full of swing, Yardbird glassware featuring its distinctive bird wings and music emblem, is available to stockist pubs.  Yardbird is now available in cask, 500ml bottles and 330ml cans where it can be purchased in selected Tesco stores.

Speaking about Yardbird Dom South, Marketing Director said: “Yardbird was so well received when we introduced it as a seasonal ale we decided to launch it as a permanent beer packing it with even more hop flavour to create a beer full of character. It’s a perfect fit amongst our stable of beers which range from flavoursome and rich ales to modern, craft IPAs. This morerish pale ale with its fresh blue and white logo is already creating a stir amongst our customer base convinced it is the beer that will challenges the lager drinker into the pale ale category.”
