The Original Beer Week is back – and this time it’s bigger than ever.
More pubs than ever – a fabulous 59 – are involved in the festival this year, and you’re invited.
As a member of the Guild, you are warmly welcome to the VIP launch party at the Waterfront, this Thursday 25th May at 3:30pm. Or, branch out and come some other time during this fabulous, month-long celebration of local beer and characterful pubs.
Try out the Ale Trails, and talk to some of the 32 local brewers involved in the festival. The stories are many and varied; itching to be told; and ready to flow on to your keyboard, down your microphone, into your camera lens.
Give Guild member Frances Brace a shout (details at foot of release) for pub, brewery and City of Ale director contacts and for any other information to facilitate your visit to Norwich.
If you come to the VIP party, you’ll be sipping and savouring beers from the region’s fabulous breweries and meeting City of Ale organisers, brewers, publicans, guild directors, sponsors, CAMRA folk. And if you stay on for the public event, you’ll meet a whole load more beer-lovers. To complete the evening, explore some of the amazing City of Ale pubs.
Plan a trip to Norwich between 25th May and 25th June; wend your way round the historic city streets and alleys; take part in the ale trails; visit great pubs; drink award-winning ales, most of them made with barley grown and malted in North Norfolk. See how City of Ale generates much needed footfall into pubs; introduces local beers to drinkers; engages people in conversations about localism.
