Fifteen Guild members benefited from a ‘Mobile Storytelling’ course earlier this month.

The one day course, organised and subsidised by the Guild, was led by Jack Soper, an experienced broadcast producer and trainer.  Delegates were given an introduction to how to film and edit high quality content on their smartphones, with practical tips and plenty of hands on practice.

Guild member Lotte Peplow said, “This course was excellent.  I went from being a complete novice to feeling I could put together a decent video!  Jack was a fabulous presenter and made everything easy to understand and accessible. This was a fantastic opportunity for Guild members and I, for one, benefited enormously.”

Frances Brace, Guild director and founder of Red Flame Communications, said, “If a picture is worth a thousand words, things bode well for videos. And these are no longer a domain exclusive to professional film-makers. We all have the technology at our finger-tips: it’s just a matter of using it.

“The course was terrific: it gave us vital information and practice. The trainer Jack Soper was excellent.

“If the course is run again, don’t hesitate to book on to it.”
