GUNNERS UNITE! CAMDEN TOWN BREWERY LAUNCHES NEW DOUBLE HELLS LAGER DEDICATED TO ARSENAL FC

The new Double Hells lager is a commemorative beer inspired by the 1971 Arsenal double win

May 2020: It’s been 50 years since Arsenal took home the iconic ‘Double Header’ – winning both the FA Cup and Premier League in the same year. And because a special anniversary deserves a special beer to celebrate with, we’ve launched a limited-edition lager made especially with Arsenal fans in mind. Introducing: Camden’s Double Hells Lager.

Inspired by the historic events that took place in 1971, we’ve upped the ABV of this limited edition beer to 7.1% (see what we did there?). Using a classic Camden Hells recipe, double dry hopped with Hallertau tradition hops for an extra kick, you can expect a punchy bitterness that compliments our fresh, never pasteurised Hells Lager.

Full of citrus and herbal flavours, beer (and football) fans can expect fresh bread aromas from the malt, with refreshing lemony notes and a clean, dry finish.

“1971 was one of the most iconic years for Arsenal and the club’s amazing fans, so we brewed this limited-edition beer, that we believe is befitting of such a season, for Gooners to celebrate with,” said Ashleigh Amos, Head of Brand Experience and Partnerships at Camden Town Brewery.

“Inspired by the away kit the team won in at Wembley 50 years ago, we’ve swapped our iconic Hells Lager red for yellow and blue. The colour is exclusive to our new Double Hells Lager, so it looks as fresh as it tastes.”

So, what are you waiting for? Celebrate the legendary Gunners in style and snap up a pack of our limited-edition Double Hells for £30 on the Camden web shop at: www.shop.camdentownbrewery.com

About Camden Town Brewery:

Camden Town Brewery is a leading brewery based in North London and the home of Hells Lager. Founded by Jasper Cuppaidge, the team began brewing under the railway arches in Camden in 2010 and opened a second brewery in Enfield in July 2017. The Enfield brewery is the largest brewery to be built in London in over 30 years.

Camden Town Brewery’s core range consists of five beers including its award-winning Hells Lager and the brand’s latest launch – Off Menu IPA. These beers are available in all major supermarkets as well as around 3,000 pubs, bars and independent retailers.

Alongside the core range, Camden Town Brewery releases several limited-edition Seasonal Hells lagers each year and smaller batch innovations and collaboration beers under its ‘Arch 55’ series.

In May 2020, Camden rebranded Camden Hells to Camden Heroes for a limited time in support of Healthcare workers across the UK. All proceeds from sales of the beer were donated to NHS charities, and NHS workers were able to claim a 6-pack of the beer for free.

The brewery also launched a virtual pub THE CAMDEN BRE.WWW.ERY BAR, which hosted a series of programmed entertainment including pub quizzes, live music, cookalongs and more. All events aim to raise money for Hospitality Action’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund.

Camden Town Brewery continued to support Hospitality Action’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund by hosting an auction on Twitter for the most valuable pint of Camden Hells ever poured, which was delivered (at a safe two metre distance) to one lucky beer fan’s front door. The pint sold for £800, which Camden matched and donated to the hospitality charity.
