Innis & Gunn Vanishing Point 07 is an 11% Imperial Stout, matured in incredibly rare casks from The Glenlivet. This is the fifth (and final) offering in Innis & Gunn’s 2023 Limited Edition series.
For the first time, this Vanishing Point expression heralds a Double Cask maturation, spending nine months in The Glenlivet 18YO casks before being finished for three months in Port Casks.
This is the seventh of Innis & Gunn’s annual Vanishing Point series, which takes its name from a place that always remains slightly beyond reach – reflecting Dougal Gunn Sharp’s unrelenting mission to never become complacent and to continue pushing the boundaries of brewing.
Dougal Gunn Sharp, Founder and Master Brewer, Innis & Gunn said:
“Imperial stouts are such a modern drink and are delicious enjoyed either chilled down or at room temperature. They were our special export opportunity to the Court of Catherine the Great in Russia in the late 1700s and, as they were high in alcohol and hops, these stouts were assured of arriving in good condition.
“Maturing this beer for nine months in The Glenlivet eighteen-year-old casks and then for three months in the distillery’s former port casks has made this a very special collectors’ edition.”
This years’ release is rich and complex, yet with a warming mellowness and a malty mocha and caramel backbone, accented with hints of berry and nut. Innis & Gunn Vanishing Point 07 is ideal for savouring over the winter months, gifting for Christmas or enjoying on the 25th day of December itself.
Innis & Gunn Vanishing Point 07 is available via the Innis & Gunn online shop from 4th December (www.innisandgunn.com), priced at £15 per 500ml bottle in its smart gift carton.
