Innis & Gunn Islay Whisky Cask Beer 2024 – a Laphroaig collaboration

Launch 30th Apr 2024

  • Islay Whisky Cask is a 7.4% Scottish red ale, which has been aged in Laphroaig whisky casks.
  • It was first released by Innis & Gunn in 2021 as ‘Islay Whisky Cask’
  • In 2022, this beer was aged in Laphroaig Quarter Casks and in the following year in Laphroaig 10YO casks followed by a period in Port casks. For 2024 it is aged in casks used in Laphroaig’s flagship 10 YO expression.
  • Islay Whisky Cask shows the rounded mellowness of Innis & Gunn topped by the hallmark Laphroaig aromas of smoke, chocolate and oak, with hints of marzipan and red fruit.
  • Hops: Styrian Goldings
  • Malts etc: ale malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley.
  • This limited edition, as usual, is offered in a special gift carton commissioned this year from contemporary Glasgow-born artist, Peter King.
  • Available from 30th April via the Innis & Gunn online shop (www. innisandgunn.com), priced at £6 per 330ml bottle.
  • Will also be sold in Sainsbury’s stores in Scotland in time for Father’s Day and in Booths supermarkets, priced RRP £5 per 330ml bottle.

Launch 20th August 2024

  • The 7.7% 33cl brew is matured in single malt casks from distilleries in the north Highland region of Scotland.
  • This is an original beer that evokes the Highlands of Scotland. It is complex, warming, and packed full of character.
  • Malts: Pale, Amber, crystal, roast malt
  • Hops: Goldings
  • Immensely complex yet smooth and rewarding. A delicious toffee malt character with hints of buttery vanilla, and stewed fruits in balance with a delicate light citrusy hop.
  • Well chilled, this is perfect for Autumnal sipping
  • Gift pack: It is housed in its bespoke gift carton.
  • It is a heaven-made accompaniment for traditional or vegetarian haggis, satay chicken, pies with a good rich crust, tarte tatin or crème brulée.
  • Available from Innis & Gunn online shop from 20th August (www. innisandgunn.com), priced at £6 per 330ml bottle.

Innis & Gunn Spiced Rum Finish.

Launch 8th October2024

  • This Spiced Rum Finish is a first for Innis & Gunn
  • Innis & Gunn have long wondered what effect spiced rum seasoned casks would have upon beer. Since spiced rum is typically made by infusing rum with aromatic spices and then bottling it, Innis & Gunn have made their own blend of spiced rum, specifically to complement the beer which has been matured in the casks the spiced rum has seasoned.
  • The spicing mix included vanilla, star anise, cinnamon and allspice which marry seamlessly with the barleys’ generous flavours of smooth honied malts.
  • It dances with vibrant Caribbean flavours and comes in a gift carton.
  • Malts: Pale, crystal, Munich, roast and chocolate
  • Hops: Styrian Goldings
  • Available via the Innis & Gunn online shop from 8th October  (www. innisandgunn.com), priced at £6 per 330ml bottle.

Innis & Gunn Vanishing Point 08 – in collaboration with The Glenlivet –

Launch 12th November 2024

  • The Vanishing Point is something far in the distance, slightly beyond easy reach and forever pushing the boundaries of the eyesight – or brewing
  • This is Vanishing Point’s 8th Vintage
  • Vanishing Point 08 is an 11% Imperial Stout as before, but this year matured in a different selection of casks from The Glenlivet.
  • It takes drinkers to The Tropics via Speyside, being matured for 365 days in ‘The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve’ Casks.
  • This year’s release is packed with flavour, rich, complex but with a fruity mellowness. It shows a mocha and coffee backbone, with hints of tropical fruits, accented with hints of berries and nuts.
  • The brew is made up of Super Styrian hops, with ale malts, amber and chocolate malts and roasted barley.
  • Food pairings: Mushroom pates; most cheeses; grilled steaks; barbecued foods, apple tart or ice cream.
  • Available via Innis & Gunn online shop from 12th November (www.innisandgunn.com), priced at £15 per 500ml bottle which comes with gift carton.
