Join us for the launch of City of Ale 2019 – at the Waterfront on Thursday 23rd May, 3.30pm – 5.30pm.
Norwich is Britain’s original Beer Week, and has been going since 2011. With its philosophy of encouraging people around the winding streets and historic lanes and tempting them into the gems of pubs that proliferate throughout the city, it generates over 10,000 pub visits a year. And those are just the ones made by Ale Trailers and verified by pubs.
So if you come to the launch, be sure to allow yourself enough time to go exploring – to see what makes Norwich into such a great beer city, and what makes East Anglia into such a great craft brewing region.
A collaboration between Northmaen Brewery in Normandy and Norfolk Brewhouse will see a boat coming from Rouen (which is twinned with Norwich) , across the Channel, up the Wensum River to Norwich and mooring at the Waterfront for the Launch Party. It will have followed the route used by the Normans to bring the stone used to build Norwich Castle and the Cathedral. Now the boat will be bringing beer to raise spirits in a different way! And of course there will be loads of other beers from the East Anglia region.
Roger Protz will be officially opening the Festival, and Pete Brown will also be addressing the multitudes.
The Launch Party is Thursday 23rd May, 3:30pm – 5:30pm, at The Waterfront, Norwich, NR1 1HQ. To register, head to: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/vip-norwich-city-of-ale-2019-launch-party-tickets-56880046751
