IPANEMA BEER – IT’S TALL AND TAN AND YOUNG AND LOVELY…..AH!

Sashaying into the pubs in time for the football World Cup is this citrussy best bitter from Wadworth. Full of flavour with a spicy body and a malty character, Ipanema’s  golden charms are made for carnival with a toasted sweetness that does a samba on the tongue. Arriba!

Named after the famous beach in Rio de Janeiro (as well as the eponymous girl from..!) Ipanema has been created by Wiltshire-based brewers Wadworth as a perfect session beer for celebrating football’s greatest spectacle.

“We wanted to capture the fun and excitement of a Brazilian World Cup with this beer that is a deliciously light ale at only 3.8% abv and so makes a perfect long drink on a warm summer’s day,” said Sales and Marketing Director Paul Sullivan.

“The pump clip is deliberately eye catching with the zingy citrus colours that echo the flavours of the beer. We believe that this will stand out on the bar and capture the imagination of customers who are caught up in the fever that is the football World Cup.”

Ipanema is brewed with a pale ale, munich and lightly toasted crystal and caramalt. The hops are Williamette and Simcoe from the US and Styrian Golding from Europe. Described as a golden, best bitter with a citrus zing and additional spiced hops, the brew has a little toasted malty sweetness that fades in the clean and dry finish.

Ipanema is available in the cask from Wadworth. Contact 01380 723361 for further details. Also available from all good cask beer wholesalers.
