It’s not only about Dry Jan: Brew//LDN embraces the increasing demand for Low and Non-Alcoholic brews

With Dry January becoming an increasingly popular trend, there is a growing demand for low-alcohol and alcohol-free options. This goes beyond just the month of January, as many people are looking to decrease their alcohol consumption for wellness reasons. As a result, the global non-alcoholic beer market is expected to achieve 8% annual growth by 2024.

Brew//LDN, the popular craft beer festival in London, is responding to this trend by bringing even more low and non-alcoholic options to this year’s event. “We are committed to the idea of ‘quality over quantity’ and recognise the increasing demand for low-alcohol and non-alcoholic options. We are excited to offer an even wider selection of these options this year, to ensure that everyone can enjoy the unique craft beer experience we have to offer”, says Toby Chantrell, one of the founders of the festival. Yes, a craft beer festival with no guilt (or hangover).

Freestar, Renegade, and Toast Ale, will be among the many offering these options at the festival. “We believe this is really where the volume-driving segment of the market is. This movement is a genuine behavioural shift in our generation and is here to stay”, says Felix Von Hurter, Co-Founder of Freestar, a non-alcoholic brewery created for beer lovers and drinkers who also enjoy alcoholic options, a group that corresponds to 90% of alcohol-free beer drinkers. “If you want to capture the attention of this consumer, then you absolutely need to offer a high-quality and diverse range of alcohol-free drinks”.

The festival will be back at Printworks this May (5-6th) for the final time before moving to a new venue in 2024. The festival will be split into four sessions, including a trade-focused session and three consumer-focused sessions, offering plenty of opportunity for guests to discover new brands and taste exciting creations in the sector. If beer is not your thing, the festival will also feature exhibitors offering artisan seltzers, craft spirits, and premium street food.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! The Saturday session will feature a performance by world-renowned DJ Norman Jay MBE, who will keep guests dancing with his signature blend of funk, disco, soul, and jazz. Other performers will be announced soon.
