Guild member Jeff Pickthall has launched “Bottle and Can Studio”, a photographic service dedicated to the needs of brewers and beer sellers.
Drawing on his twenty years of experience in beer-selling and thirty years obsessing about the role of presentation in affecting purchasing decisions, Jeff knows the needs of the industry.
The primary need is for good, clear photographs of the packaged product for web and print use. The label design and brewery branding need to be distinct.
Managing reflections is the major problem when photographing bottles and cans. Jeff has spent three years perfecting techniques to keep them under control.
Jeff’s workspace is in an outbuilding at his home in Newcastle upon Tyne. The space was the former owner’s ceramic studio.
